Description : A plastic bowl containing betel leaves, locally known as ‘paan’, which is chewed with the white "chun" slaked lime (calcium hydroxide), shavings of areca nuts (betel nut) or ‘supari’ and tobacco leaves. The ingredients are wrapped in a pack of betel leaf is known as a "betel quid", or ‘khili’ in Bangla. It is a popular chewing mixture among the stone labourers of Jaflong, in Sylhet, Bangladesh.
