Description : Sitting in every available space in a overcrowded classroom, girls read from their textbooks at Dasht-e-Barchi Education Centre #1 in Kabul, the capital. The school, serving 800 students who are taught in 3 shifts by 15 teachers, lacks panes, heat, furniture, carpets and lights. The teachers are not paid and many have no professional training.
