Description : Rawana Falls, also known as Ravana Ella, is a famous sightseeing attraction located in the Ravana Ella Wildlife Sanctuary in Ella. The waterfall measures approximately 25 meters (82 feet) in height. It cascades from an oval-shaped concave rock outcrop and is one of the widest falls in the country. During the wet season, it is said to resemble an areca flower with withering petals. The falls are named after the legendary King Ravana from the ancient Indian epic, the Ramayana. According to folklore, King Ravana hid Princess Sita in the caves behind this waterfall, now known as the Ravana Ella Cave. Sri Lanka.
